Cardiac First Response Instructors

The PHECC’s Cardiac First Response Instructor (CFR) course is completed over 2 days. The pre-requisite for entry on the CFR Instructor course is to be in certification at the level of CFR at either Responder or Practitioner levels within 90 days and have received a recommendation to progress for Instructor training. The CFR - Practitioner course was designed for registered healthcare practitioners/professionals.

Following successful completion of the Instructor course, a student CFR Instructor will assist on one CFR course, be supervised on a second and deliver the third independently with evaluation by a Recognised Institution prior to award of the CFR Instructor certificate. The CFR Instructor course is available at both Responder and Practitioner levels. A CFR Instructor is only permitted to provide a Cardiac First Response course when
  1. they themselves are approved as a Recognised Institution; or
  2. they are working as faculty members of a Recognised Institution.
Occupational First Aid (OFA) Instructors who have recently availed of CFR up-skilling training are not permitted to provide CFR courses outside of an OFA course. OFA Instructors may however, apply to PHECC for approval as a Recognised Institution as a sole trader or small training company, or be nominated as an Individual by a Recognised Institution as a faculty member.
