EMT Study Day - West Cork

EMT’s came together on the 10th of November for a study day in West Cork which included topics such as ECG’s, vital signs, patient handover and a workshop on intra muscular injections.

Participants were from the Irish Red Cross, Civil Defence and Irish Air Corps. The day was organised by Jonathan Tyner (Irish Red Cross) and facilitated by the Clonakilty Branch ofthe Red Cross.

Local Advanced Paramedics Mick Lynch, Olive Murphy and Kieran Henry assisted with the sessions as well as newly appointed Emergency Medicine Consultant at Cork University Hospital, Dr. Conor Deasy.

Feedback was excellent and a similar day is planned for February in Skibbereen which will be organised by the Civil Defence.
