Purpose of the Event

The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) is hosting a consultation to shape the future direction of Continuous Professional Competence (CPC) for all registrants, including Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, and Advanced Paramedics. This event will focus on developing an improved CPC/Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system that is fair, equitable, and to reassure the Council that all PHECC registrants are keeping up to date and engaged in CPC.

Michael Guthrie, formerly of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK, an experienced professional in policy and standards development, has been commissioned to lead this initiative. The new CPC/CPD system is expected to be ready by the end of 2025.

Who Should Attend

Representatives from employers, unions, professional bodies, academics, the Department of Health, and registrants (EMTs, Paramedics, and Advanced Paramedics) are invited to contribute to this important discussion.

How to Register

Attendance is limited to 50 participants to ensure a diverse range of voices. Please express your interest by completing this online form (link) by 31st July 2025. Lunch will be provided.

We look forward to your participation in shaping the future of CPC/CPD for the paramedicine professions.

Ginny Hanrahan, Independent Regulatory Consultant, on behalf of Richard Lodge, Director, PHECC.
