Are you interested in joining one of the voluntary licensed CPG providers?
The voluntary sector of the pre-hospital emergency care continuum is made up primarily of three organisations:
• Order of Malta Ambulance Corps
• St. John Ambulance Ireland
• Irish Red Cross
Each organisation is a PHECC licensed CPG provider at all CPG levels, including EMT.
With recent developments in continuous professional competence it will most likely be difficult for registered EMTs to maintain professional registration if they are not privileged to practice by an organisation. For EMTs who are currently not attached and privileged by a licensed CPG provider, we would like to suggest that you consider joining one of these organisations to enable you to practice and encounter patient contacts.
While each organisation operates slightly differently they all have a widespread presence throughout Ireland.
There are some procedures to follow when joining any of the organisations but they are minimal and EMTs would be very welcome as members.
Further development opportunities are also available to EMTs, e.g. ongoing training and development, instructor training and working with youths.
If you are interested in joining any of the organisations please see contact details below. Included are links to each organisation’s website for further information and to establish where the nearest presence to you is.
