National First Responder Network Launched

Health Minister Leo Varadkar launched the national first responder network in the National Concert Hall on the 21st January.


 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
In over 100 communities around the country, people who are trained in cardiac first response, volunteer to respond to cardiac arrests in their locality. Every minutes can make a difference and First Responders in the community are making that difference between life and death for the patient. 

There are many types of responders groups nationally, all playing a part in increasing the rate of survival from cardiac arrest. Over the coming year there are plans to link many more groups to the national ambulance service.
