Director (Chief Officer) of the Council

Established by the Minister for Health and Children in April 2000, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (“PHECC”) is an independent statutory body with responsibility for standards, education and training in the field of pre-hospital emergency care in Ireland. PHECC’s mission is to protect the public by specifying, reviewing, maintaining and monitoring standards of excellence for the delivery of quality pre-hospital emergency care.
PHECC invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Director (Chief Officer) of the Council to lead the organisation into the next stage of its development, building on the fi rm foundations laid down since its inception.

The Role

As Director to the Council you will have responsibility for the efficient and effective operation and development of the organisation, leading a team of dedicated staff who support a wide range of specialist committees, to enable the Council to fulfil its remit in ensuring that the system of Pre-Hospital Emergency Care is developed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing healthcare environment. 
The functions of the Council are set out in the PHECC Establishment Orders (S.I. No. 109 of 2000).
In this context, the Director (Chief Officer) of the Council of PHECC will be required to undertake duties and responsibilities in the areas of operations, change, strategy, communications, research, information and management.
