Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Welcomes
Visiting Paramedic Instructor Ian Rizzoli

I began my career in 1979 in the Victorian Ambulance Service (Australia).

After completing my initial 3 years of training became a clinical instructor/ mentor for trainees whilst working in the town of Ballarat. Transferred to Geelong in 1986 and continued as a clinical instructor. In 1990 transferred to Melbourne and completed the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance course (MICA) and continued as a clinical instructor. I transferred to Brisbane in Queensland in 1997 as a Clinical Support Officer / Educator with the Queensland Ambulance Service. This role is an on- road educator/ assessor, clinical investigator and helicopter paramedic. I am currently the Brisbane Helicopter Paramedic supervisor/ coordinator. I have held various positions in clinical management, but I have always had a keen interest in road and helicopter work. I currently hold an Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Intensive Care Ambulance) and a Bachelor of Health Science (Pre- Hospital Care) from the Queensland University of Technology. I saw an advertisement for the Clinical Instructor’s position here at NATS/ UCD in late 2003 and applied for this position. I was appointed to this position for a 12 month period and commenced in Ireland in December 2004. My family have shifted to Ireland with me for this period and we all are thoroughly enjoying our Irish experience.
