The Council is assisted by various groups and committees to fulfill its statutory functions.


The Clinical Care Committee advise on operational aspects of clinical care matters. 

The Accreditation Committee recommends to Council policy and procedure regarding Education and Training Standards.

The Medical Advisory Group is an expert group who consider medical matters as referred to it either by Council, the Clinical Care or Accreditation Committees or by the PHECC office.

The Fitness to Practice Committee oversees the practice of PHECC-registered pre-hospital emergency care practitioners, whose names are entered in the PHECC Register. 

The Control Working Group is a sub-committee of the Clinical Care Committee. The Control Working Group develop Education and Training Standards in relation to Control that they recommend to Council.

The Examination Quality Committee assure quality of examinations and make recommendations to various committees.

The Examination Appeals Committee
whose function is to consider examination appeals made to PHECC, is a sub-committee of the Accreditation Committee .

The Audit Committee, which reports to Council, monitors and reviews the effectiveness of financial controls.
