This page tells you what information we display on our online register.
The register shows you whether a pre-hospital emergency care practitioner is registered with PHECC and, as a result, whether they are practising legally, safely and effectively, and they are entitled to hold a registered practitioners licence. If you cannot find your pre-hospital emergency care practitioner on the register, you should assume they are not registered.
Registration shows you that a registered practitioner:
- has had a certain level of training or experience
- meets our standards for their professional skills, behaviour, and health
- complies with a code of professional conduct and ethics, and
- is entitled to practise in accordance with their status on the register.
The full details displayed about each registrant are:
- name
- PHECC PIN number (a unique identifier)
- current registration-cycle expiry date
- any Fitness to Practice findings
- approximate geographical work location.
The availability of this data is to facilitate the public in identifying pre-hospital emergency health professionals. It also serves as a source to identify those registrants who have orders made against them of a professional nature – in other words – if their practice has been restricted in some way, i.e. if they have been advised, censured or admonished.
What doesn’t the register show?
Registrants must meet PHECC's standards so that they can practise legally, safely and effectively. The register will not show individual qualifications, seniority, nor skill levels. However, as a condition of registration, registrants must only practise in accordance with their ability and skills and status on the Register.
The information displayed permits you to check the identity of the pre-hospital emergency care practitioner you are checking. The Register does not display a full home address nor work address.
