Instructions for candidates attending NQEMT Examinations
Candidates must satisfy the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) that the training course is completed in full. Certification from the training institution and Ambulance Service, Training & Development Officer (or equivalent) are required. PHECC will issue an NQEMT examination number or candidates must have been requested to sit the NQEMT Examination as part of the Accreditation process for professional qualifications obtained outside the jurisdiction.
Candidates not attending at the designated time for examination may not be admitted into the examination.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to present themselves at the examination centre(s) designated by PHECC.
A photo ID must be produced to gain admission into each section of the examination.
Uniforms may not be worn while attending for examination.
Emblems, badges or any paraphernalia that may identify a service or level of competence should not be worn.
Your NQEMT examination number is required on every sheet of paper submitted, at every skills station and to access the computer based examination.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to have all writing instruments required.
Mobile phones and or pagers are not permitted in the examination centre.
PHECC are not responsible for supervision of personal items. Please note that candidates leaving personal items in the examination centre do so at their own risk.
An appeals process is in place for candidates.
If a candidate is found to have committed any irregularity in connection with the NQEMT examinations, he/she will be asked to leave the examination and will forfeit any results from other sections of the examination and will need to show cause to the Appeals Committee of PHECC as to why they should be allowed to repeat the examination.
Candidates shall be notified of results within four weeks of the examination date. Results are expressed as Successful or Unsuccessful. It is not the policy of PHECC to disseminate individual marks/ percentages awarded.
No text books, written notes etc. are allowed in the examination rooms, OSCE circuits etc.
Candidates are not allowed communicate with each other in examination rooms or OSCE circuits
